It’s the newest reality programme to hit the US, a mature dating show with a Freudian twist that makes us question whether we’ll need psychoanalysis after viewing it.
Milf Manor (Milf is an abbreviation for Mom I’d Want To… well, you know) comprises eight ladies aged 40 to 60 who fly to a beautiful house in Mexico to find The One.
They’re all in great shape, sporting bikinis that would make an Islander blush.
Their fantasy holiday turns into a nightmare when it’s revealed that the suitable bachelors they’ll each be able to pick from are none other than each other’s 20-something kids. They’ll go on dates, share secrets… and share bedrooms.
Milf Manor requires each candidate to accomplish a variety of (scary) activities in order to earn rewards.
In the first episode, each mother is blindfolded and takes turns fondling each prospective suitor’s naked breast to determine which one belongs to their son.
Meanwhile, in Episode 2, a mother and son exchange sex secrets, with one parent admitting she slept with her son’s closest friend. Set off the fireworks.
The show’s high (or low?) point is the sex education challenge, in which the mothers are entrusted with teaching their kids about the delights of female pleasure. For demonstrative reasons, detailed schematics, dildos, and fruit are all available.
We defy you not to cringe as you watch Ryan perform a sex act on an orange in front of his mother.
Milf Manor has been widely derided by critics, with one calling it the “rock bottom” of reality television.
While all five episodes are accessible on Discovery+ in the United States, a UK release date has yet to be announced (mercifully). If you must have a teaser, the first episode is accessible on YouTube.
