Cobra Kai has KO’ed the competition with season 3 and has become one of Netflix’s most popular returning series ever.
The Karate Kid continuation originally launched on YouTube Premium, but was given a new lease of life when it was bought over to Netflix.
Season three, which launched on New Year’s Day, is the first season made specifically for the streaming service – and it paid off big time.
A staggering 41million accounts have watched the new episodes within its first two weeks alone.
The series stars William Zabka and Ralph Macchio as their original characters, warring Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso, 36 years on from the original Karate Kid movies.
Still holding a grudge after all these years, the pair find themselves clashing once again when Johnny befriends a bullied schoolkid named Miguel.
Helping Miguel inspires him to reopen the defunct Cobra Kai karate dojo, sparking anger and worry from Daniel, whose daughter Sam attends school with Miguel and the new members of Cobra Kai.
Re-opening Miyagi-Do, it doesn’t take long for things to spiral out of control as their feud drags a team of schoolkids into the fight.
At the end of season three, the pair were seen having to figure out their differences as Johnny’s evil former sensei Kreese threatens them on and off the mat.
Thank God there’s a season four on the way already.
Cobra Kai is available now on Netflix.
