Christmas and New Year’s television schedules are facing changes due to the spread of the Covid strain Omicron.
So far ITV and Channel 4 have both announced shows, including Good Morning Britain, have been axed as the variant continues to surge.
It comes as a further 91,743 lab-confirmed Covid cases were recorded in the UK on Monday, and another 44 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus.

What shows have been cancelled due to Omicron?
Good Morning Britain
ITV has confirmed that Good Morning Britain will not air next week.
Although the daytime programme will broadcast a special Christmas Day show, episodes from December 29 to December 31 have been axed.
A spokesperson confirmed that the decision to scrap the show for three days was due to ‘the pandemic and to protect our teams’.
Good Morning Britain will instead return on Tuesday, January 4.
LIVE Joe Lycett: Mummy’s Big Christmas Do! On Channel 4
Joe Lycett’s big queer Christmas house party has been axed on Channel 4.
The 90-minute festive show, which was due to be hosted live from his Birmingham hometown, was scheduled to air on December 22.
However, Joe announced on social media on December 17: ‘Unfortunately due to the progression of the omnicron variant I am very sad to announce we have cancelled next week’s Mummy’s Big Christmas Do! on Channel 4.
‘Live TV involved a huge amount of people; Mummy doesn’t want any of my team at risk!
‘I’m obviously gutted – we had a very fun, loud and colourful show and I hope one day we can do it for you.
‘Lots of love, Mummy xxx.’
It’s not yet known whether the show will be rescheduled for a later date.
What shows are still going ahead?
Jools Holland’s Hootenanny
As it stands, Jools Holland’s Hootenanny will air as planned.
He’ll be joined by his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, as well as Ruby Turner and the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards.
On top of that, there will be performances by Ed Sheeran, Gregory Porter, Rag’n’Bone Man, Yola and Joy Crookes.
The extravaganza will air on BBC Two on Friday, December 31st from 11.25pm.
The Big New Years & Years Eve Party
Olly Alexander and Years & Years will see out 2021 in style with a music spectacular as BBC One plays host to The Big New Years & Years Eve Party.
The It’s a Sin star will be joined by some very special guests guaranteeing to leave viewers starstruck as pop superstar Kylie Minogue and the legendary Pet Shop Boys join the party, with lots more surprises in store too.
As Big Ben strikes midnight, the nation will come together to welcome in the new year and light up the start of 2022 before the action heads back to the show as Olly Alexander and friends continue the party.
