Chris Tarrant’s ex-wife Ingrid would be willing to allow her daughter have a role in her dating life, so might My Mum, Your Dad be in the works?
The ITV programme hosted by Davina McCall premiered on Monday evening, when a group of single parents began their dating travels in quest of love.
Unbeknownst to them, their children, who nominated them for the procedure, are all watching from a hidden monitoring room and can make choices on who they believe would be a good match for them.
Following the show, TV personality Ingrid and her daughter Fia appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday morning, where they highlighted Fia’s role as matchmaker to her mother.
Ingrid, 68, was previously married to Chris, 76, of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? from 1991 to 2007. Her first husband, Tony Walsh, with whom she was married from 1980 until 1985, is the father of her daughter Fia.
She and Tony had a son named Dexter, and she and Chris have two children, Sammy and Toby.
Ingrid emphasised during the GMB interview that she is ‘happily’ single and is ‘not necessarily’ searching for love.
Despite this, she stated that she would be ‘open’ to meeting someone if Fia set her up, before adding, ‘I think they’d find it hard to matchmake me anyway.’
When asked if she was looking for a mate for her mother, Fia said, ‘Do you know what? It would be fantastic if she found someone since it would get her off our backs.
‘I mean she phones us all five times a day. It would take one almighty person to take my mother off [the market].’
She went on to say that, while her mother indicated she would listen to her if she was concerned about someone she was seeing, she wasn’t ‘entirely sure’.
Nonetheless, Ingrid stated that she would ‘100%’ trust her daughter’s judgements.
So, may Ingrid consider appearing on My Mum, Your Dad in the future? We’ll just have to see!
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX. My Mum, Your Dad continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
