A recording of a real-life poltergeist will send shivers down your spine in a forthcoming documentary.
The debut teaser for the Apple TV series The Enfield Poltergeist, which tackles the intriguing case, has actual audio from the ghoul who terrorised a household in the 1970s.
The poltergeist threatens in the video, ‘I come to punish you.’
The Enfield Poltergeist tells the story of a mysterious allegation of ghostly activity at a London residence between 1977 and 1970, which prompted the tenant, Peggy Hodgson, to summon the Met police.
She claimed she saw furniture being moved around the home and that her two children heard loud pounding sounds on the walls, among other strange occurrences.
More than 30 individuals, including her neighbours, journalists, and paranormal investigators, stated they witnessed odd phenomena, including the children levitating.
There has never been a conclusive answer as to what transpired at 284 Green Street, while some experts believe it was a hoax perpetrated by Hodgson and her family.
According to the synopsis, throughout the four episodes of The Enfield Poltergeist ‘the events are reconstructed using the real recordings captured by Maurice Grosse, a paranormal investigator who archived all of his interviews with those affected by the phenomenon.
‘Building a replica of the house where the incidents took place, performers reenact what is heard on the actual tapes, allowing an interplay by the archival voices and appearances of those originally involved in the incident through present-day interviews.’
The docuseries includes over 250 hours of audio material, reconstruction of the terrifying location, and unique interviews with persons affected by the case.
The Apple TV programme isn’t the first time the events have been fictionalised in the film The Conjuring 2, as well as several TV series, radio plays, and a play starring Catherine Tate.
The Enfield Poltergeist comest to Apple TV on Friday October, 27.
