Celebrity MasterChef has revealed the finalists competing for the title of champion.
The superstar competitors have been cut down to five after weeks of trying to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode, with Marcus Brigstocke just losing out on a position in the final.
Love Island‘s Luca Bish, Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh, popstar Jamelia, The Wanted’s Max George, and broadcaster Wynne Evans were among the finalist lineup.
However, the five surviving cooks are still a long way from the finish line, as they will continue to compete in the kitchen for the next week.
The most difficult cook-off to date will take place in the first round, with the finalists going to East Sussex to prepare a particularly special supper in a kitchen unlike any other.
Chef Nick Weston guides the fivesome as they prepare a three-course meal for 20 of the country’s best Scouts who are out on the South Downs completing their survival badge.
The final five must then return to the MasterChef kitchen and prepare one spectacular meal inspired by someone they respect.
To stay in the competition, the celebrities must do homage to that specific individual while also impressing John and Gregg with their originality, ability, flair, and dedication.
The cook who does not make the cut will be eliminated, and the remaining four cooks will go one step closer to being crowned Celebrity MasterChef winner in 2023. The pressure is on.
This year’s series included 20 celebrities, including Dani Dyer, James Buckley from The Inbetweeners, Dianne Buswell from Strictly Come Dancing, and actor Michael Praed.
Mica Ven of Gogglebox, DJ Locksmith, radio presenter Richie Anderson, Dave Benson Phillips, and comedian Shazia Mirza were also tested in the kitchen.
Lisa Snowdon was awarded Celebrity MasterChef winner last year after competing against other finalists Danny Jones and Melanie Blatt.
Celebrity MasterChef finals week starts on Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
