Celebrity MasterChef bid farewell to two more talents today, as the competition’s semi-finals kicked off.
The four competitors were reduced to two on Friday’s quarter final night, with Marcus Brigstocke and Mica Ven advancing, while Love Island star Dani Dyer and Inbetweeners actor James Buckley were eliminated.
Tonight, the foursome continued to impress three previous show stars: Angelica Bell, Danny Jones, and Lisa Snowdon.
And now, judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace had a tough choice to make as they narrowed the field from four to two for the forthcoming semi-finals.
Unfortunately, Dani, 26, and James, 35, were eliminated and will not be competing any further.
Speaking on their axing, Dani said: ‘I definitely feel like I’ve walked in one person and come out another. It’s great, I’m happy. It’s been a really good time.
James however, admitted he was ‘gutted’ to be out of the competition.
‘It’s been a wild ride and I’m honoured to have been a part of it,’ he added.
Richie Anderson, a radio celebrity, was the first to leave after serving jerk chicken that was still pink in the centre.
Unfortunately, it appears that Richie’s demise was foretold by the chicken, as John and Gregg chose to eliminate him first from the game.
‘I served Gregg Wallace pink chicken,’ Richie complained to producers following John and Gregg’s judgement. I’m completely embarrassed.
‘I just wilted like a bit of spinach in a frying pan.’
He subsequently stated that he was “gutted” to be eliminated, but that he had a “amazing time” and had “caught the bug” for cooking.
Celebrity MasterChef returns next Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
