Whenever Love Island comes around, fans always make a point of expressing how much they dislike hearing the islanders’ kiss, imploring the producers to dial down the volume on their mics.
Stacey Solomon joined in the chorus of disgusted viewers while watching Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Jay Younger smooch in the villa with her fiancé Joe Swash on Celebrity Gogglebox.
On Friday’s episode of the Channel 4 programme, the scene played out where Jay and Ekin-Su met for a secret rendezvous on the terrace, while she was still coupled up with Davide Sanclimenti.
Before locking lips, the pair complimented each other on their eyes – leaving Gok Wan in hysterics and Fearne Cotton utterly bemused by the topic of conversation.
After Nick Grimshaw mocked the way the islanders were discussing each others’ eye colours, Babatunde Alesh and Mo Gilligan gasped in shock when Jay went in for the kiss, leaving Ekin-Su giggling giddily.
While Ekin-Su was leaning over Jay, their mics picked up their squelchy snog – and Stacey was not liking it one bit.
After Joe imitated the sound of their kiss, Stacey scrunched up her face in disgust, remarking: ‘It’s so wet and gross.’
Later on, when Ekin-Su was filming wiggling her bum while crawling away from Jay, First Dates star Fred Sirieix commented on how ‘suggestive’ he found the soap actress’ exit.
While sparks were flying between Ekin-Su and Jay when he first entered the villa, the pair have since moved swiftly onto new romantic interests.
Investment analyst Jay enraged Ekin-Su when he revealed he wanted to get to know paramedic Paige Thorne, despite Paige being in a secure relationship with rugby player Jacques O’Neill.
Meanwhile, Jay’s revelation prompted Ekin-Su to embark on a new connection with the latest bombshell, real estate developer Charlie Radnedge.
The latest recoupling threw several spanners in the works, including when Davide decided to couple up with singer Antigoni Buxton.
This left dancer Danica Taylor looking incredibly downcast, considering she and Davide had shared a passionate kiss just the day before.
Love Island fans have to wait until Sunday to find out what’s going to happen next, with Saturday’s episode revealing unseen, behind-the-scenes bits from inside the villa.
However, Sunday’s episode does look like it’s going to be a treat, with lovebirds Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack going on their first date.
Celebrity Gogglebox returns on Friday at 9pm on Channel 4 and All 4. Love Island returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
