Bradley Riches was eliminated from Celebrity Big Brother 2024 following a ‘cruel’ surprise.

The housemates had no idea what was going to happen before the shock elimination and felt they were receiving a treat.

‘This is Big Brother. Housemates, your time in the Celebrity Big Brother house has nearly come to an end,’ a booming voice announced to the house.

‘The past three weeks have seen you jockey for position in horse racing, enforce law and order at Big Brother’s police department, have your day in court and face a fairytale ending.’

They added: ‘But now it’s time for you to receive the ultimate reward. Big Brother will call one housemate at a time to make their way to the rendezvous.’

One by one, the celebrities entered the task room for a’rendezvous’ with a loved one. Bradley was the last guy to get his chance, but it was AJ Odudu who appeared on the stage to notify him that he was the seventh person to be evicted.

‘Surprised to see me?’ she asked.

‘As you can see neither a friend nor family member is here for you. That is because the public have been voting. I can now reveal that the seventh housemate to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house is you.’

The Heartstopper star has 30 seconds to return to the home and say farewell to his fellow residents.

Bradley, 22, went to the diary room to reflect on his experience.

‘What a day. I feel like I had the absolute best time. I’m so grateful,’ he shared before adding that he’d made incredible friends in the house.

‘I was scared to do it and I’ve done it,’ he concluded.

Celebrity Big Brother viewers reacted to the ‘heartbreaking’ moment on X.

‘That was heartbreaking. Nikita just sobbing with his head in his hands and Bradley just being so thankful to them all. That was so cruel,’ wrote Wando.

Sophie added: ‘Oh my god that was evil! Poor Bradley!’

Other viewers termed the decision to push him out in that manner ‘brutal’ and said he deserved better.

Sinitta made an entrance (Picture: ITV)

As part of the assignment, Louis Walsh, 71, was reunited with 80s popstar Sinitta, who gave him some ‘home truths’.

Sinitta, 60, struck him with a T-shirt she had bought as a present and told him: ‘Everyone in the house is nice except you.’

‘I’m just me,’ Louis replied.

‘You could win this. I don’t know how but you really could. I have laughed so much,’ she told Louis.

Louis, taken surprised, also commented on how nice she looked before pulling off the t-shirt, which had the title of her song ‘Toy Boy’.

Although it appeared to be a pleasant encounter between old pals, Louis’ actual sentiments were exposed in an exclusive footage on Late and Live.

Louis informed roommates that they hadn’t seen one other in years and that she was picked since she was available.

Each housemate got one minute at the rendezvous, which their fellow housemates observed from the lounge.

Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts reconnected with a close friend, Coronation Street’s Colson Smith saw his mother again, and presenter Fern Britton burst into tears when her daughter arrived.

When it was Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin’s turn, he was given time with his girlfriend Lauren Jaine, and the two spent the majority of it kissing.

With Bradley’s departure, the official finalists for this year are Louis, Fern, 66, Nikita, 26, David, 30, and Colson, 25.

After getting over Bradley’s departure, the final five opened champagne and celebrated by singing along to Katrina And The Waves’ Walking On Sunshine and Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody. That is also how we celebrate any bittersweet news.

Louis called it the ‘strangest three weeks’ of his life, while David said he’d done everything possible in the experience. With his eyes firmly on the prize, he added: ‘The only thing left to do is win.’

Bradley’s expulsion was reminiscent of Matty Simpson’s pre-final withdrawal from the show last year. Every flatmate received a letter from home, with the 24-year-old doctor from the Isle of Man receiving the last.

Reading out his letter, Yinrun relayed what appeared to be a meaningful message to Matty from a loved one, but as she came to the conclusion, it ended with the addition: ‘But unfortunately your time here is up.’

As the lights darkened, it was announced that he had been expelled as the 11th housemate following a popular vote.

He then had 30 seconds to depart the house before telling Big Brother that he knew it was ‘time to go’.

So if anyone knows how Bradley feels it’s Matty, who commented on the official Celebrity Big Brother Instagram with: ‘That’s worse than getting evicted by a letter from home. Poor guy I know the feeling.’

Celebrity Big Brother: Live Final airs at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
