Celebrity Bake Off viewers can’t deal with Gemma Collins’ unfortunate pastry: ‘It looks like dog vomit’

Towie symbol Gemma Collins had fans in stitches as her shopping-themed showstopper fell flat.

AJ Odudu, Tim Key, and Jessica Hynes put their culinary skills to the test on tonight’s edition of The Great Celebrity Bake Off: Stand Up To Cancer.

When she wasn’t swooning about judge Paul Hollywood, the GC, 42, kept her company as she battled to make sense of it all.

Paul and co-judge Prue Leith challenged the celebs to design a choux-shape showstopper (try saying that three times fast), and Gemma stated that she will obtain “that apron if it kills me.”

‘My earliest memory is going down to Woolworths.’ she says of the idea for her design. ‘I’ll never forget one day there were these fluffy mules on the shelf, and it was the best day of my life.’

While her prior effort did not impress the judges, she was determined to go all out, but viewers couldn’t help but trash the star’s bake.

‘Oh my God Gemma that just looks like dog vomit.’

Ouch!

‘I thought Gemma’s was horrible but a decent effort,’ Paul remarked during a debrief with Prue and hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas.

Gemma was not awarded Star Baker tonight, while Jessica received the coveted title.

Gemma told Metro.co.uk why she wanted to join up for the yearly special: ‘Obviously Stand Up To Cancer is a great cause but I’m a huge fan of Paul Hollywood, so when I got the call I was like, “I need to see Paul with my own eyeballs”.

‘I always go into everything with such energy and pizzazz but when it came to the choux pastry it went horribly wrong. Paul Hollywood, bless him, was really complimentary because he saw how much enthusiasm I had and Prue Leith was beautiful, Matt Lucas was hilarious and… who’s the other one?

‘Noel had never met anyone quite like me, so it was hilarious.’

The first two episodes of Celebrity Great British Bake Off is available to stream on All4 now, and the next episode airs on Sunday, April 2 at 7.40pm.
