Carol Vorderman couldn’t look more disgusted when asked if she’d ‘sh*g Laurence Fox’

Carol Vorderman’s look when asked if she’d’shag’ Laurence Fox was priceless.

In a surprise appearance on Have I Got News For You, the former Countdown performer, 62, was probed about the current GB News scandal.

Vorderman was on hand to examine the topic that has grabbed headlines for the last week, in which Fox, 45, made derogatory remarks against political journalist Ava Evans, known as Ava Santina on X, previously Twitter.

The former actor made the statements on Dan Woottoon’s nightly show, adding, “Who would want to shag that?”

GB News suspended Fox and finally fired him after receiving hundreds of Ofcom complaints, saying in a statement that the channel had ‘terminated its employment connection’ with him.

He later posted an ‘apology’ video, alleging that Evans had a ‘dislike of men in general’ due to her views on male suicide, but apologised for ‘demeaning her’.

Speaking about the controversy on HIGNFY, Vorderman – who is never one to bite her tongue when it comes to politics – was asked by host Victoria Coren Mitchell: ‘What have GB News been looking into?’

Already clued up on the matter, Vorderman explained: ‘Ah, yes. So, Laurence Fox was on Dan Wootton’s show and he said some terrible things about a female journalist called Ava Evans.

‘Then there were lots of complaints, and then Laurence Fox was sacked but Dan Wootton, apparently there’s an internal investigation.’

Coren Mitchell then chimed in with: ‘More importantly, though, Carol, about Laurence Fox, would you shag him?’

The studio crowd then burst out laughing as Vorderman made a really disgusted face.

The mathematical specialist grimaced and turned her head away in disbelief, shaking her head.

Vorderman made a ‘Eurgh’ sound, putting her palms out as she fought to find words to describe her sudden nausea.

In a bid to keep things light, Coren Mitchell quipped: ‘You see, I think I probably would but…’

‘Victoria!’, a stunned Vorderman exclaimed.

‘Call me Gen X, a difference of opinion is no bar.

This isn’t the first time Vorderman has expressed her thoughts about Fox.

The TV personality, who was at the forefront of the outraged celebrity reactions to Fox’s first remarks, sent a note to the former Lewis star.

‘Please know that ALL decent people are on your side. We’re grateful for your voice,’ she posted.

‘Do not let them bully you. I know only too well how difficult that can be.  But we ARE winning.  All of us together.’

She also re-shared the video and asked people to lodge complaints with Ofcom.

Shortly after Fox’s comments and subsequent suspension, Metropolitan Police said in a statement that he had been arrested: ‘On Wednesday 4, October officers arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to ULEZ cameras and encouraging or assisting offences to be committed.

‘He was arrested in Stockwell and has been taken to a South London police station where he remains in custody.’

In response to his detention, Fox resorted to social media with a stunning 20-minute video message in which he slammed police for seizing his two children’s computer gadgets during a house raid.

He also compared the force to the Stasi, nicknamed the Ministry for State Security, East Germany’s security service from 1950 to 1990.

Strangers, according to Fox, have since’spat’ at him on the street, and he now feels too ‘vulnerable’ to go outdoors.
