According to reports, Caitlyn Jenner turned down a second season of I’m A Celebrity… I need to get out of here!
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will headline an all-star version of the ITV programme this spring, inviting back a slew of jungle favourites.
Former campmates will participate in Bushtucker Trials one more in the hopes of becoming the first I’m A Celebrity Legend.
While a superb cast has been announced, one person will not be foregoing their home comforts for a life of rice and beans.
Caitlyn Jenner, 73, of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, is claimed to have been too busy to return to I’m A Celeb, where she originally starred in 2019.
However, her superiors were eager to book her.
A source close to the Olympian told The Mirror: ‘They reached out and her schedule didn’t allow for it.’
The show was shot in South Africa last year and will premiere at the end of April, but Caitlyn was clearly scheduled.
The TV personality was regarded to be the highest-paid entry ever at the time of her first (and presumably only) trip in the jungle, earning a stunning £500,000.
Caitlyn was ousted in sixth place after camping alongside Nadine Coyle, Myles Stephenson, Roman Kemp, and Kate Garraway in the most dysfunctional family imaginable before Jacqueline Jossa went on to win.
Caitlyn had nothing but positive things to say about her co-stars after her performance, despite quitting their WhatsApp group on the aircraft home!
Speaking to Daily Star, she said: ‘It’s a tremendous bond, what we went through, you never forget that.
‘I’m A Celebrity is about the people, it’s not about where they’re at. You’re in the jungle, it’s not easy but the show is about the people.
‘Isolated from the world, forced to deal with themselves.’
Meanwhile, the 2023 South Africa lineup may not contain Caitlyn, but it is highly exciting since a slew of jungle favourites are making a comeback.
Carol Vorderman, Paul Burrell, Jordan Bango, Shaun Ryder, Helen Flanagan, Fatima Whitbread, Phil Tuffnel, Amir Khan, and Janice Dickinson make up the cast.
‘It’s a question we often get asked, Who would you bring back to the jungle?’ Ant remarked of the new season.
‘So, to get this opportunity to make a brand new show in South Africa and put some of our previous campmates through their paces again was the dream.’
Dec added: ‘It’s bigger and wilder than we could have hoped for so viewers are in for a real treat!’
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa will air on ITV1 and ITVX at the end of April.
