Andrew Buchan, star of Broadchurch, is said to have moved out of the house he lived with his wife of 11 years and is now living with his new co-star.
Buchan, 44, has been married to Downton Abbey actress Amy Nuttall, 40, for almost a decade, and the couple has a kid together.
He apparently ‘fell’ for Better co-star Leila Farzad, 39, while filming the new BBC drama, which was released last month.
He and Farzad are claimed to be ‘living together,’ much to the’surprise’ of many around him.
‘It was a huge shock. Amy is heartbroken. Whatever has gone on, it seems to have been enough for him to re-evaluate his whole life and rip up their marriage,’ said a source.
They added to The Sun: ‘For Andrew to walk away from his family was a huge shock to us all. Everyone who knows them thought they were going to be together forever. But he’s packed his bags and left with his new co-star.’
Buchan, well known for his role as Mark Latimer in Broadchurch, is claimed to have divorced Nuttall shortly before Christmas.
Stockport-born Buchan’s first major part was as Scott Foster, a political lobbyist, in BBC2’s Party Animals.
In addition to playing Andrew Parker Bowles in The Crown, he also played Matt Hancock in ‘s This England.
Meanwhile, Nuttall’s breakthrough role was as Chloe Atkinson in Emmerdale.
The Blackburn-born soap star started the programme at the age of 18 and stayed for five years.
She was well known for her roles as Ethel Parks in Downton Abbey and Winnie Peterson in ITV’s Liar.
After graduating from Oxford University, Farzad landed a role in I Hate Suzie opposite Billie Piper, but it was her work in Better alongside Buchan that garnered her broader attention.
The plot revolves on a crooked officer (Farzad) attempting to rebuild their life.
