Britain’s Got Talent’s David Walliams fears his Alternative Queen’s Speech could upset the Royal family in the upcoming Christmas special.
The Little Britain comedian will dress up as Queen Elizabeth II to present a stand-up routine in the style of the annual Christmas speech.
While it will be reflecting on the year in general, including Simon Cowell’s bike accident, David still fears there could be some fallout from Buckingham Palace as a result.
He said: ‘That was fun, it’s an alternative Queen’s speech. It’s just jokes about the other judges, more than jokes about the Queen.
‘In any case, the Queen is going to watch it and not be very happy!’
‘That’s just one part of the show,’ he added. ‘It’s a two-hour show extravaganza, it’s going to be great.’
The upcoming festive special was filmed at Hammersmith Apollo, and will see the judges take to the stage to perform for the first time.
As well as David, Amanda Holden will join forces with Collabro to perform her single Home For Christmas, while Ashley Banjo – who has temporarily stepped in for Simon Cowell – will dance once again with Diversity.
Alesha Dixon will perform Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas with 2017 winner, Tokio Myers.
‘I think it’s nice that because everyone’s had a rough year, I think people just want to be entertained,’ David said.
‘So, I’m glad we’re providing a bit of fun this Christmas.’
