Viggo Venn, the winner of Britain’s Got Talent, was set to come on the Lorraine show today celebrating his triumph, but it was informed mid-show that he would be unable to do so.
This no-show comes after he allegedly got booed by part of the studio crowd after being revealed as the winner on Sunday, while several viewers voiced their disbelief at him obtaining first place.
Lorraine Kelly, 63, excused his absence but did not address the backlash: ‘Viggo was meant to be joining me in the studio this morning but sadly, he’s not feeling so chipper but perhaps, we’ll see him later on.’
A footage from his final performance was played, in which the comic made the judges laugh by forcing Simon Cowell to don an identical hi-vis jacket as rose petals were tossed over the two.
And when two jackets weren’t enough, it was then discovered that the whole crowd was wearing a hi-vis vest! In the tumultuous performance, there was also cursing, balloon popping, and confetti.
Upon seeing the film Lorraine said: ‘Look at the vitality of the man, he needs a small rest.’
After hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly revealed Viggo as the winner, some viewers turned to social media to voice their feelings and to record the ‘booing’.
One person wrote: ‘You just hit rock bottom #BGT2023 an act with no talent wins a talent show. Gutted for the acts that have trained for years to be beaten by a guy in a hi viz!!!’
‘Did you hear them boos on @BGT? Quite right too, ridiculous. So much more talent in that final tonight. #BGT2023 should not have made the live shows. Poor winner,’ added another.
A third person raged: ‘Cancel/axe the show forever; the boos in the crowd say it all – the WORST winner ever in the show’s history!!!!! How did this sideshow win????? He literally has no talent whatsoever!!!’

Of course, in order to win the popular vote, he needed a large support following, which included comedian Rosie Jones, who came to his defence.
She wrote: ‘I haven’t stopped smiling since the INCREDIBLE @ViggoVenn was crowned the winner.
‘Clowning is one of the most skilful forms of comedy and we need more in the mainstream media. It could not have happened to a more hardworking, talented and kindhearted person!’
Another individual asked viewers to vote in favour of the popular choice.
‘Very surprised. But Viggo was very funny. Very distasteful for anyone to boo Viggo. Not his fault he won, people voted for him, not anyone else,’ they wrote.
‘Made it a sour end thanks to the audience reaction. Well done, Viggo!!! #BritainsGotTalent #BGT2023 #bgt’
