Boy George has confessed he stole make-up before finding fame.
The 59-year-old presenter made the admission as he joined Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on today’s episode of This Morning.
After presenter Ruth hailed the Culture Club hitmaker a ‘trailblazer’ for his flamboyant dress sense, she then asked Boy George, whose real name is George Alan O’Dowd, where he first got his hands on his make-up and whether he would borrow his mum’s products.
‘No, she only used a blue eyeshadow, which was not enough for me!’ he commented.
‘I used to go into Woolworths. I’d pay for some stuff and some fell into my purse!’
Ruth and Eamonn giggled at Boy George’s confession before swiftly moving the conversation on.
Last week, Boy George got candid about his struggles in lockdown.
‘I’d say the biggest challenge is the removal of spontaneity,’ he said on TalkRadio.
‘I’ve realised, I live alone and I like spending time with myself, but having that option to pop out for a coffee with someone, when that’s removed it becomes difficult.’
However, the artist shared he’s been able to be proactive.
‘I used the time to be creative, I’ve done some incredible things, that I may not done had this not happened,’ he added. ‘I’ve just made a record with Tony Visconti without meeting. There’s been a strong will to get stuff done.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
