Big Brother winner Pete Bennett has put himself forward to be taking the reins of the iconic show’s reboot alongside former housemate Glyn Wise in an ‘Ant and Dec’ fashion.

Reality TV fans were thrilled when it was finally confirmed, after months of rumours, that Big Brother would be returning to our screens in 2023.

The epic former Channel 4 programme is being brought back after a four year absence, having been axed by Channel 5 back in 2018.

Little is known about the new-look Big Brother, including who will take Davina McCall’s previous job as presenter, but several stars have thrown their hats in the ring.

Among them is Pete, 40, who won the 2006 iteration of the series after winning the hearts of the nation with his romance with late star Nikki Grahame.

Taking to Twitter, the Brighton-based TV personality wrote: ‘Me and @GlynWise are hosting the new @bbuk as the new Ant and Dec, we can’t wait!’

Under the caption, the actor posted an adorable snap of him with Glyn, who entertained viewers with many hilarious moments on Big Brother, including when he learnt to boil an egg for the first time.

A fan Big Brother account was quick to respond to the pair’s post, writing: ‘Now that would be fun wouldn’t it?’

Another viewer added: ‘That would be ace but don’t leave Rylan out . U 3 would be funny together.’

A second simply said: ‘This NEEDS to happen!!’

While the duo, who have recently rekindled their friendship after not seeing one another for ‘years’, would be legendary as presenters, no official announcement has been made by show bosses.

Other stars rumoured to be in the running include former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Rylan Clark, although he recently penned a Twitter post shutting down the speculation.

‘Should clarify. I’ve not been asked to host the show. As a fan, like always, I’m made up it’s coming back,’ the 33-year-old wrote.

Meanwhile, identical twin brothers Jedward, both ex- Celeb Big Brother contestants, have made a bid to take on presenting duties on the ITV2 programme.

They wrote: ‘Big Brother UK 2023 we should definitely Host it Iconic Housemates.’
