Kate Lawler shared a photo in Antigua that sparked an outpouring of unfair nasty remarks about her figure, prompting her followers to rally to her rescue.

The Big Brother star is now in the Caribbean presenting the latest ITV competition section. Kate, 43, is travelling the tropical locale in order to pre-record the films that inspire viewers to try their hand at winning the big prize. She may have the finest job in the world!

Kate uploaded a mirror selfie of herself posing in a bikini and a few gorgeous photographs from her work trip on Instagram.

Unfortunately, the photo elicited several disparaging remarks regarding her weight. Some individuals felt compelled to inform Kate that her weight was ‘hazardous’ and that she needed to consume more food. Others felt the need to label her as ‘unattractive.’

Other individuals who were more sympathetic and encouraging commented on how unfair it was that Kate had to read these things.

Gemma Atkinson, 39, of Strictly Come Dancing fame, correctly pointed out that this isn’t something we should be seeing in 2023.

‘Being “offended” or “triggered” by a woman in a bikini Christ Almighty!’ she typed.

‘Let’s hope 2024 brings you all more happiness! Looks lovely Kate, enjoy the warmth as it’s bloody cold here!’

Belles Blue 81, a social media user, published an emotional statement that has gotten over 100 likes.

‘ENOUGH ENOUGH ENOUGH, stop the commenting on other peoples bodies! Why are people still thinking they have the right to comment on others appearances the “well it’s posted on social media” isn’t a pass to comment on anyone’s body size,’ she began.

‘Have some respect, consideration and human decency to keep certain comments to yourself,’ she later typed.

Another user JoanaLopesGomes also pointed out how difficult it can be for women to ‘win.’

‘A woman is skinny: “eat a burger!” A woman has curves: “close your mouth!”- Women can never win, can we. The worst is these mean comments come from other women as well.’

Kate, who has a one-year-old daughter named Noa with her husband Martin Bojtos, has yet to respond to the insults (and she doesn’t need to!). She is instead revealing further details about her trip, which included a boat excursion and seeing turtles.

However, this isn’t the first time Kate has received such remarks, and she has previously warned of a ‘double standard.’

‘If someone is on Instagram showing their curves and grabbing their rolls, it’s all, “You go girl, well done you,”‘ she told The Sun.

‘They’re celebrated, called real women. Well, why can’t a real woman be a healthy size eight? It’s crazy.’

After the online abuse, Martin, came to his wife’s defence and said: ‘I love that people are concerned about my wife’s weight when I cook for her.’

He added: ‘Guys, chill – it’s the camera angle. Put the phone down and go outside for a bit.’
