Big Brother curse could reveal the first housemate to get the boot

Rosie Williams, or should we say Baked Potato, may face eviction on the first episode of Big Brother due to a curse.

Rosie would face Dean Smith, Nathan King, and Ryan Bradshaw in the public vote following a string of difficult games.

As the only vulnerable woman in the ITV series, she confronts a difficult battle.

Because, unfortunately for her (and all women), a female flatmate has been the first evicted 20 times out of 21 civilian series.

Marco Pierre White Jr. is the single exception to the norm. In 2022, a man was sentenced to prison for a variety of crimes, including shoplifting and racially abusing a Tesco security guard.

The son of renowned chef Marco Pierre White was the first to depart in 2011, yet he remains an exception in a long-standing curse.

It all started in the inaugural 2000 series, when Sada Walkington was forced to leave the house first.

Even as the series transitioned from Channel 4 to Channel 5, and finally to ITV, the first-out tradition persisted.

Bonnie Holt, Sallie Axl, and Anamélia Silva are among those who have left early, having had little time to express their enormous personalities.

Most recently, Farida Khalifa fell victim after confronting Kerry Riches. It felt especially unjust because the women were establishing themselves as two of the most fascinating characters in the house.

Big Brother would be nothing without the famous ladies that walk through the doors, so removing potential main characters before they have even fully unpacked is an awful habit.

It is bad news after terrible news for Rosie, a dental nurse from Cornwall who had to face Thomas Atkinson in a dare game.

To demonstrate their competitiveness, the pair faced more demanding tasks on the most recent episode.

Rosie accepted being referred to as Baked Potato for the remainder of her time in the house, and eating a blended cheese sandwich. However, she admitted defeat when Big Brother said all her future nominations must be carried out face-to-face.

While Thomas, who had to shave off an eyebrow and shred three housemates’ personal photos, proved unbeatable. Therefore, he escaped the punishment and moved into the main house after previously living in ‘storage’.

The seven housemates still confined to the dreadful room – Daze Aghaji, Emma Morgan, Lily Benson, Rosie, Dean, Nathan and Ryan – were then given one final chance to change their fate.

Emma and Lily to also escape the first public vote.

This year, viewers are voting to evict, rather than to save, with the first live eviction taking place on Friday.

Big Brother continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
