Bosun Luke Jones was dismissed from Below Deck Down Under after being nude in bed with a co-star without her consent.
In horrifying images that aired last night, the season two crew returned to the boat after a wild night out, during which chief stew Aesha Scott put Margot Sisson to bed after she had consumed too much alcohol.
When the stewardess was left alone in her bunk and passed out, Luke strolled into her cabin nude and climbed into the bed with her.
During the worrisome moment, producers leapt into action, imploring Luke, ‘Luke, come on out! We need to get you down. I need to get you out of here because she needs to sleep.’
While still nude, he kept trying to close the cabin door and yelled at the video team before storming back to his own room and told castmate Laura Bileskalne that he “didn’t do anything.”
Aesha went to check on Margot, who affirmed that she was sleeping and that she ‘didn’t invite that at all,’ declaring that she ‘didn’t even know’ he was nude.
The interior team’s leader then entered Captain Jason Chambers’ cabin, visibly moved by what had happened that evening.
‘Basically, we came home tonight and I felt like Luke was kind of wanting to take advantage of Margot’s drunkness a little bit,’ she said. ‘She was pretty out of it. Then, next thing I know, the power goes out and Luke is running out of Margot’s bed naked. She was completely unconscious.
‘Now Luke is so freaked out that he got caught that he’s locked himself in his room. It’s so f**king wrong.’
Breaking down, Aesha continued: ‘I just feel like a lot of women have had history with things happen and it’s stresses me out if I ever see anyone being taken advantage of.’
She told the camera in a confessional: ‘We don’t actually know what would have happened but being in her bed naked, and she had no idea, it actually makes my skin crawl. You don’t have the right to put someone unconscious into that position.
‘I have had a drunken sexual assault experience before and I never wanted that to happen to anyone else.’
Captain Jason confirmed Margot’s safety before rushing down to Luke’s cabin and escorting him to a motel for the night.
The next day, he brought the crew around and informed them that the bosun had been let go, with deckhand Culver Bradbury temporarily filling in.
‘I want to stress this is a place we respect each other,’ he added. ‘Our cabin is our safety zone, that door is our boundary. That door is not to be opened unless it’s consensual.
‘To walk into someone else’s room without consent, indecent, is my limit.’
While his crewmates stayed in the salon, Luke was permitted to return to the boat for a little period of time to get his belongings.
He told the Captain of his actions: ‘I’m sorry, and I’m just so disappointed in myself.’
Below Deck Down Under streams on in the US on Mondays, and on in the UK on the same day.
