John Watson, the resident sports presenter on BBC Breakfast, was brought to the hospital earlier this week with a terrible leg injury.
The presenter announced on social media that he had surgery after ripping his meniscus, the cartilage between the shinbone and the thighbone that functions as a shock absorber.
On Thursday night, John posted a photo of his bandaged left leg from his hospital bed, saying, ‘Less of a sprint, more of a hop to the studio on Monday am for me…’
While John is on the mend, he did reveal that he will be on crutches for a “couple of weeks” until his leg heals completely.
John’s followers were quick to wish him a speedy recovery, including fellow BBC Breakfast host Jon Kay, who wrote: ‘Take care, John. I’ve got a glittery sock for the other foot if you need it.’
Another said: ‘Hope you’re on the mend soon John.’
A third added: ‘Oh my, get well soon John, I did that, slow recovery, but one step at a time n all sorted.’
After slamming his head into a door earlier this month, it’s safe to say John is prone to mishaps.
He showed off his damaged eye by uploading a photo of it to Instagram before showcasing the make-up department’s magic.
Captioning the post, John said: ‘The joy of getting dressed at 4am and cracking your head on a door in the dark!! Not that’d you’d notice on tv – great covering job by @patricktbartley 🙌🏻🙌🏻 #patchup #tv #readytogo.’
