Ant McPartlin was in an emotional mood after returning to film Britain’s Got Talent after a long time away.

The presenter was back to host the show with Dec Donnelly in front of a live audience for the first time in two years, and the significance wasn’t lost on him.

Ant choked up as he addressed the crowd for the first time as he saw the crowd for the first time.

The presenters were joined by Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams for the first day of the auditions at the London Palladium.

According to the Daily Mirror, Ant told the audience: ‘Excuse me while I go and cry. We are so excited to be back.

‘We were gutted to miss last year and not get to see you all. But we’re back, raring to go and have one hell of a show for you.’

The Britain’s Got Talent finals were pushed back from the spring to the autumn last year due to the pandemic. The shows then were pre-recorded with a virtual audience, before the show was cancelled completely in 2021.

It was recently reported that Simon, 62, will remain a judge on the popular programme until 2025.

The music mogul was notably absent from the live shows in 2020 due to a back injury he suffered while in California.

Comedian and musician Jon Courtenay was crowned the winner of the most recent series.

Britain’s Got Talent airs later this year on ITV.
