Anne Diamond told a harrowing Christmas event that left her kid with third-degree burns on today’s GB News.
The panel, which also comprised Martin Daubney, Nigel Nelson, and Dawn Neesom, was debating vacation mishaps following the publication of a research indicating that holidaying Brits are abandoning traditional places.
With temperatures rising in popular vacation destinations such as Spain and Greece, TUI has discovered that tourists are flocking to colder destinations such as Scandinavia and the Netherlands.
The panel agreed that holidays where things go wrong are typically more memorable, and Anne, 68, recalled a trip to the United States.
Anne who has previously presented Good Morning Britain and Good Morning with Anne and Nick, with Nick Owen, began: ‘We were in Florida once and at one of them Teppanyaki tables where the chef is doing all these things to put it on the plate in front of you.’
Anne who has five sons – Oliver, Conor, James, Jake and Sebastian, who died of sudden infant death syndrome when he was just three months old, with ex-husband Mike Hollingsworth continued: ‘And one of my children leaned forward and said, “That was fabulous”.’
She then replicated how they placed their hands on the scorching grill.
‘Both his hands down on the thing, third-degree burns, had to rush to the hospital, unbelievable times.’
She concluded: ‘I think if you take the kids on holiday you always have funny moments’.
Dawn, 58, observed that it did not appear to be the most amusing circumstance.
‘It wasn’t funny but I’ll never forget it,’ she clarified.
Anne revealed she had breast cancer two months ago.
The GB News anchor described how she was diagnosed on the same day she was granted an OBE in the 2023 New Year’s Honours for her contributions to public health and safety.
Anne, in particular, worked to increase awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Having undergone a double mastectomy, the broadcaster said it’s been ‘a hell of a journey,’ though she is now ‘through it enough’ to come back to work.
Concerning Dan Wootton Tonight, Anne revealed that she has been fighting the condition for five months and is still going through it.
