She’s a spunky, forceful, and independent girl who knows what she wants. Is Peppa Pig turning youngsters become spoilt brats? Some parents are concerned that their child’s nationality will change.

It has been over 20 years since Peppa first appeared on our televisions, and she is still as famous as ever, having earned a reputation for herself all around the world.

She’s even had star cameos, with US singer Katy Perry recently voicing her own character.

However, the enthusiastic preschool pig has discovered that popularity comes at a cost, since American parents, in particular, aren’t big fans of her antics.

So much so that they’ve started complaining about Peppa’s impact on their children.

Some parents have observed that their American children have adopted British accents and mannerisms, and some have even begun to substitute American phrases with British terminology.

For example, they might say ‘biscuits’ instead of ‘cookies.’

Taking to social media to unleash their frustrations, parents branded Peppa ‘rude’ and ‘impatient’.

Pearl Boshomane wrote on X: ‘So happy we are discussing what a terrible role model Peppa Pig is. She’s rude and a total brat and she never gets called out for it on the show. She’s a selfish, body-shaming bully. And she gets away with it.’

Meanwhile, a mother named Armita Asgari, 41, told The Wall Street Journal that she believed ‘Peppa is a brat’.

She noted a shift in her five-year-old son Luca’s attitude after seeing the show, and recalled him telling one of their neighbours that they had a ‘large tummy’.

‘That was when I realised he had picked up all these behaviours from Peppa Pig,’ she raged.

The mother was also surprised when her kid began saying ‘yuck’ in reaction to items he did not enjoy.

Then, if his mum did something he didn’t like, he would tell her: ‘You’re not my friend anymore.’

Pearl definitely isn’t alone, as another mother told the Daily Mail that she has banned Peppa Pig from her home, blasting the characters as ‘rude and stupid’.

She also criticised their ‘poor values’ and expressed concerns about children ‘copying what they see and hear’.

Esra Cafer, Hasbro’s senior Vice President, is well aware of the criticism Peppa Pig has received and has responded.

The corporation argued that the eponymous character ‘has the ability to articulate how she feels’, describing her as ‘assertive and self-confident’ and refuting the notion that she is ‘too blunt and harsh.’

Regardless, Peppa remains popular, with many parents urging their children to watch her show.

She’s also been acclaimed for her comedy, which makes children giggle since it’s simple to comprehend.

Parents have even defended Peppa Pig from detractors, advising those who detest it to ‘click the off button’.

This is not the first time Peppa Pig has faced criticism; she was attacked by disgusting racists last year after celebrating Pride Month.

Peppa can’t get a break!
