Alison Hammond has spoken out against the National Television Awards, after This Morning was booed and lost its daytime prize for the first time in over a decade.
The popular TV personality also lost the best TV presenter award to Ant and Dec, as the team maintained their top slot, which they’ve held for almost 20 years.
Alison uploaded a photo of herself and her This Morning co-stars, including Holly Willoughby and Dr Scott Miller, snapping a selfie from their VIP seats on Instagram.
In her caption, the 48-year-old wrote: ‘What a night of happiness at the @officialntas with @thismorning , we had the best time.
‘Thanks so much for all your love support and votes and allowing us to be there . I’ll be honest it was so nice watching the whole show with @joeldommett in our seats.
‘Sometimes failing can be your biggest success 💕💕 well done to @therepairshoptv and @antanddec , you all totally deserved the Win 🏆.’
Alison got countless offers of encouragement beneath her Instagram post, with host Joel Dommett replying with a row of heart emojis.
Several individuals said that, while they like Ant and Dec, they believe Alison should have won the reward.
‘Love Ant and Dec but you should have won,’ one wrote, while another said: ‘I love Ant and Dec but I did vote for you… keep being you as you absolutely rock.’
Someone else shared: ‘Congratulations to you all, yes I wanted you to win but in my eyes you are always a winner.’
The National Television Awards are available to watch on ITVX.
