Alison Hammond has apologised to those she had blocked on social media after discovering they were not mocking her.
The This Morning anchor, 48, is one of our most cherished TV personalities, but she has had to deal with some social media backlash.
She’s been happy blocking those who don’t have anything pleasant to say, but she’s had to backtrack after discovering that some people were truly appreciating her.
Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary were presenting a subject for the This Morning’s View section on Friday morning’s broadcast of the ITV breakfast show when he used the term GOAT.
‘We like to think you two are the GOATS- the Greatest of All Time,’ he directed at the guests, at which point Alison had to jump in.
Looking somewhat confused, she said: ‘I didn’t know that it meant that.’
She then added: ‘I did not know…I’ve been blocking everyone.’
Dermot definitely couldn’t get enough of Alison’s humorous epiphany and smiled as she apologised to individuals who may have been offering her a praise but were actually forbidden from ever associating with her again.
‘I’m so sorry if I’ve blocked you,’ she said.
It’s not the first time the broadcaster has been caught off guard on camera, as another rather embarrassing situation occurred live on-air only a few weeks ago.
On Wednesday’s broadcast, Lorraine anchor Ranvir Singh concluded the show with the customary cross to the This Morning studio to see what was up next on their show.
However, as soon as she done so, it was evident that both Alison and Dermot had no idea they were being aired.
While he was heard asking a producer for a glass of water, Alison was lounging on the couch, scrolling her phone.
Eventually getting their attention, the fill-in host joked: ‘That was smooth – nobody noticed.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
