Taking to Reddit, an exhausted passenger recently shared how they reproached a particularly loud woman they encountered on their flight for the sake of another traveller.
The story, placed on ther/AmItheA**hole subreddit, describes an individual who repeatedly raised her voice about trivial matters while sitting a few rows behind on a plane journey.
The woman was so boisterous that even earplugs couldn’t muffle her voice for the storyteller.
By the flight’s culmination, the passenger had reached a breaking point.
The traveller narrates from the airport after the incident happened that the woman seated two spaces behind him during the flight had a noticeably high volume of speech throughout the journey. Even earplugs couldn’t dull the pain in his ears from her loud voice.
After landing, a female passenger sitting across seemed visibly distressed and shared that the loud couple were on her following flight.
The narrator confronted them with, “You’re heading to Florida next, correct? Perhaps for the sake of your co-passengers, consider speaking a little softer. Despite wearing earplugs, I could still hear your loud conversation.”
The suggestion didn’t sit well with the boisterous woman’s boyfriend.
In the middle of sharing the story, the teller mentioned, the boyfriend labelled him an a**hole.
Consequently, he turned back and asked the man what he just called him, and the man repeated his insult. Suddenly, the woman intervened and declared they weren’t being loud.
At that point, the storyteller showed them his earplugs and countered, “Even with earplugs seated two rows ahead of you, I heard full details about Frank’s wedding, your nail appointment, your dog’s feeding agenda, your mobile bill, and your mom’s favourite TV shows. ”
The narrative concludes with the redditor questioning if the boyfriend’s offensive statement was valid; most comments are in support of the original poster.
The most upvoted comment states, ‘If you were able to hear them from two seats apart, even without earplugs, they’re indisputably excessively loud.’
