If her practise photographs are any indication, Shakira will deliver a jaw-dropping performance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The 46-year-old music legend will perform at the renowned event alongside Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, Olivia Rodrigo.
Taylor Swift, SZA, and Sam Smith are among the musicians vying for awards, which will be hosted by Nicki Minaj.
The Waka Waka hitmaker offered fans a sneak peek at her performance ahead of time by demonstrating her remarkable flexibility.
The performer was spotted contorting herself on the floor before grabbing a silver guitar and stepping up to the mike.
She can even be seen with her legs wrapped around her head in the jaw-dropping photos which she posted to her Instagram page.
‘Guess which song this pose is from? 👀 can’t wait for Tuesday! #VMAs,’ she captioned the post, with the official VMAs account commenting: ‘Literally counting the minutes !!!!’
She will be awarded at the presentation with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, which recognises ‘exceptional achievements’ and ‘deep effect’ on popular culture.
In a news statement, Paramount President of Music Bruce Gilmer praised Shakira as a “true global force” before presenting her with the award, which has previously been given to Madonna, Rihanna, and Beyonce.
‘Shakira is a true global force who continues to inspire and influence the masses with her unique, musical prowess,’ he said.
‘She’s a trailblazer for women around the world and one of the first artists to lead the globalization of Latin music,’ he continued.
‘Her massive impact across the musical landscape will be long-lasting as she continues to create and entertain at the highest level,’ he concluded.
