After a recent health scare, Madonna is claimed to be ‘chomping at the bit’ to resume preparations for her Celebration Tour.
The As If A Prayer The singer, 64, alarmed fans when her manager, Guy Oseary, said she had a dangerous bacterial illness that had kept her in the intensive care unit for many days.
She was discovered unconscious and was brought to the hospital for treatment, leaving her family expecting “the worst.” Thankfully, the Vogue hitmaker is on the mend after his horrific encounter.
This occurred only days before Madonna’s much-anticipated Celebration Tour, which will commemorate her 40-year career, was set to begin in Canada on July 15.
Dates in North America have been rescheduled, with the European portion of the global tour due to begin in October.
Now, it has been reported by The Sun that two months ahead of kick off, the icon is said to have hired out The Coliseum in New York and is back rehearsing.
However, the Holiday singer’s health issues are not claimed to be totally resolved, as she is “still in recovery.”
A source told the publication: ‘She is very much still in recovery but Madonna has been chomping at the bit to get back to rehearsals.
‘Not only has she hired the Coliseum in New York but she’s also hired out a second venue in London for the final week of dress rehearsals.’
They went on to explain how the last week of rehearsals would ordinarily see Madonna in the same venue as the tour begins – in this case, London’s O2 – but she can only get in 48 hours earlier owing to Blink-182’s run of shows.
The music legend recently reflected on her hospitalisation and stated that she was “fortunate to be alive.”
She described love from family and friends as her “greatest medication,” and thanked all the “angels” who “protected [her] and allowed [her] to stay to finish [her] job.”
Madonna’s Celebration Tour will be an enormous career retrospective, featuring all of her biggest hits.
Along with the icon, special guest Bob The Drag Queen, real name Caldwell Tidicue, will appear on all dates of the tour.
Tickets sold out quickly when Madonna launched the tour with the most spectacular, star-studded video teaser conceivable.
Madonna’s first event since her Madame X tour, which finished in 2020, will be on the Celebration Tour.
