Wow is a Kylie Minogue song, but it’s also everyone’s reaction to these immensely formidable images from her new music video, which was unveiled today.
Following the success of her blockbuster single Padam Padam, which ended up in UK Parliament and may possibly wind up in the Oxford English Dictionary due to its icon status, everyone’s fave Australian popstar is back with another banger to get us through the rest of this dreary old summer.
Prepare yourself, Kylie fans, because Tension has come. This isn’t a drum roll. Tension is the title of her latest single. And so is her next album, which will be available in full on September 22 for fans to gorge on.
Of course, the 55-year-old appears around 20 in the new music video, which features her in a variety of outfits, including a red-haired, silver-sequined goddess and a gothic, lace-clad blonde.
Kylie will be frolicking about in an imagined’retro future’ other universe, as if quirky clothing weren’t enough. Retro? What about in the future? We adore.
Tension is the album’s fourth track and the second single to be released following Padam Padam. It was written by Kylie and long-term collaborators Biff Stannard and Duck Blackwell.
KAMILLE, Anya Jones, and Jon Green also co-wrote the tune, which continues in the footsteps of its predecessor as a joyful pop smash.
Sophie Muller directed the music video, which was unveiled at midday today, and it is promised to be bold, gorgeous, and full of Kylie’s usual pop-playfulness.
Hold On To Now, Things We Do For Love, One More Time, You Still Get Me High, Hands, Green Light, Vegas High, 10 Out Of 10 (ft. Olivia Heldens), and Story are among the remaining tracks on the album. Love Train, Just Imagine, and Somebody to Love will also be included on the deluxe album.
With Madonna poised to tour and Kylie releasing new songs, it’s time for the elder generation of pop queens to shine brighter than ever.
This comes after Kylie revealed who she’d want to see play her in a biopic. Of course, it’s Margot Robbie, the woman of the hour, and we can’t think of a finer option.
‘Margot Robbie in my dreams. She’d have the Australian accent down, that’s for sure!’ she told E! News.
Kylie will begin her residency in Las Vegas’ new Voltaire nightclub at The Venetian between November and January, following in the footsteps of Adele.
Kylie Jenner‘s return is officially underway, and the tension is evident.
