Kesha’s new album is out, and she’s celebrating in grand style.
The Tik Tok singer, 36, released her fifth studio album on May 19, and she’s now gone to social media to commemorate the occasion, and we adore how she’s done it.
As the sun beamed down on the celebratory scene, the Blah Blah Blah singer – formerly styled as Ke$ha – stood with the vinyl LPs covering herself in what looks to be a garden, giving major power vibes.
In one, the pop diva appeared to be enjoying herself, as she crossed her legs in one shot and relaxed lazily on her blanket in another.
Kesha – actual name Kesha Rose Sebert – appeared to be relaxing, as the image had a gleaming pool in the background.
The singer seemed on top of the world as she urged her fans: ‘GET NAKED AND LISTEN TO GAG ORDER ON VINYL!’
She added: ‘And then send me ur hot pics. Who needs clothes when you got my new record??!!’ [sic]
The album artwork is extremely stunning, since it merely depicts the star’s face, which looks to be vacuum-packed, in an image that appears to symbolise the album’s title – Gag Order.
This title alludes to the singer’s unwillingness to speak on her legal dispute against music producer Dr Luke (actual name Lukasz Gottwald).
The singer, who signed a six-album deal with Dr Luke’s previous record label Kemosabe Records when she was 18 years old, claimed in a 2014 civil case that he drugged and raped her.
He disputed the claim, and the lawsuit was later dismissed.
However, Dr Luke, 49, claimed in a text to Lady Gaga that Kesha defamed him by suggesting he raped Katy Perry.
Since then, the two have been embroiled in a court struggle that has now lasted a decade.
Dr Luke departed Sony’s record label in 2017, and he’s collaborated with a number of well-known musicians, including Rihanna, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Pitbull, and Kelly Clarkson.
Kesha gained a win in 2021 when a court ruled that Dr Luke had to establish, “by clear and compelling evidence,” that the singer behaved with malice in the text.
Dr Luke’s legal team stated at the time that Kesha ‘spread a vicious lie to get out of her contracts’.
Kesha’s attorney Leah Godesky said: ‘ The case in question is over 2016 text messages to Lady Gaga in which Kesha claimed Dr. Luke had raped Katy Perry. Dr. Luke claimed the text was defamatory and won a summary judgment in 2020. The appeal trial could take place later this year.
She added: ‘As everyone knows from the beginning, this is a he-said-she-said case where the evidentiary burden matters.’
A judge found the previous year that Kesha had defamed Dr Luke with the communication, and the singer was sentenced to pay roughly $400,000 (£290,000).
Katy Perry denied being raped or attacked by Dr Luke in a deposition.
