Britney Spears has offered the greatest clue yet that she will perform at Glastonbury this weekend.
The Toxic hitmaker has been strongly touted to be one of Sir Elton John’s four special guests during his highly anticipated headlining concert on Sunday night, and now we may have a significant hint that it’s truly happening.
After she and husband Sam Asghari, 29, were enjoying up the sun in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, it appeared that all chance for an epic Britney moment was lost, but it appears that it is back on the table.
On Thursday night, the pop superstar published a mysterious Instagram picture with three Union Jack flags and a shot of a red apple that looks to be carved into the shape of England’s St. George flag.
Maybe she’s switching from bikinis to wellies and dirt after all!
The possible hint comes after Britney disclosed in a since-deleted Instagram post that she will be visiting London this week.
She said it was for a shopping trip, but the timing looks suspicious – so perhaps the Womaniser singer will join Sir Elton on stage after all!
Last year, the music legends worked together on Hold Me Closer, Britney’s first single since her 13-year conservatorship ended.
Sir Elton and his partner David Furnish have teased four prospective surprise guests for his show, and rumours abound.
‘Four collaborators of his choosing,’ David told Sky News’ Beth Rigby. ‘People, he just thought, “I’d really like to do something with these artists at Glastonbury”. And that’s all I’m going to say.’
Asked who they might be, Furnish insisted: ‘Sorry. I am sworn to secrecy.’
He did, however, reveal that Sir Elton’s well-paid headline position will be’very unique,’ emphasising that it will be ‘not just another day in the office’ as he attempts to spice things up from his ongoing Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
‘It’s a different set list – it’s a huge outdoor live festival. He’s got four different collaborators joining him on stage at different times, who I won’t name, sorry,’ he said.
‘So, he’s done a lot of changes. A lot on his plate, so I think he’s anxious. Yeah, but I think good, anxious, healthy anxious.’
