Don’t throw bras at Drake while his son is in the audience, please.
After being a popular target for bras in recent weeks, the Hotline Bling hitmaker issued the caution to fans on Saturday night (August 12).
Drake, 36, began by complaining that lingerie wasn’t being thrown at him while performing, seeming slightly annoyed after having to avoid a flying phone but not anyone’s knickers.
Fans were more than eager to grant his desire and have been hurling their pants at him left, right and centre ever since.
And, while he’s secretly enjoying it, there’s one occasion when he doesn’t want anyone’s bras tossed at him.
Addressing the crowd during his first of four shows at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, the star began: ‘I can’t talk about t*****s tonight in LA, because my son is at the show for the first time ever.’
He continued, in a video shared by a concertgoer on TikTok: ‘We’re gonna keep it PG tonight.’
‘Keep your bras on!’, he told the screaming audience.
Drake, full name Aubrey Drake Graham, is the father of Adonis, a five-year-old son with French artist Sophie Brussaux.
After initially rejecting Sophie’s pregnancy, the Canadian artist acknowledged that he was a father with his 2018 double album, Scorpion.
‘The kid is mine,’ he subsequently rapped, adding ‘I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid.’
On HBO’s The Shop, Drake then opened out about the scenario surrounding Adonis’ arrival and his relationship with Sophie.
‘We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible,’ he said.
‘Now, I’m just really excited to be a great father.’
Despite the fact that Adonis was born in October 2017, Drake and Sophie did not share any images of him with the public until March 2020.
Speaking to fellow rapper Lil Wayne on his radio show at the time, Drake explained: ‘I want to be able to go places with my son and share memories with my son.
‘I don’t want to feel like, just because of a life choice I made to be a celebrity that I got to make everybody live under this blanket.
‘I just wanted to free myself of that.’
Drake and Sophie have continued to co-parent amicably.
In October last year, they marked their son’s fifth birthday, with Sophie sharing a sweet Instagram post and tagging Drake in celebration.
Uploading snaps from Adonis’ superhero-themed party, she wrote: ‘Joyeux anniversaire mon amoureux…5 ans déjà. I’m so proud of the beautiful human you are growing up to be.’
‘We’ve done a great job @champagnepapi’, she added.
