Sci-fi action thriller The Matrix first came out in 1999 – but many still love the original today.

The movie follows computer hacker Neo (Keanu Reeves) in a future dystopia as he discovers humanity is trapped inside an AI-controlled simulation – something Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) are trying to wake the world up from.

The franchise is so popular that two sequels were released in 2003 – with a third sequel, The Matrix Resurrections, out now.

Keanu, 57, is back as Neo – but seems pretty adamant that fans should watch the latest Matrix in a cinema, not on their home TVs when it comes out as on-demand.

In a recent chat with The Guardian, he told the interviewer: ‘Don’t stream that f***ing movie… What are you, crazy? You’re going to stream the new Matrix on a laptop?’

Still, before you head to the cinema, you’ll need to catch up on the original trilogy. Probably on streaming. (Sorry, Keanu).

Here’s how.
