Following the success of the first Sing movie, the animated picture is returning to the big screen for a second installment.

Written and directed by Garth Jennings for Universal Pictures, and from the creators of Despicable Me and Minions, the new film features a star-studded cast.

Matthew McConaughey reprises his role as koala bear Buster Moon and Scarlett Johansson plays porcupine Ash – but who else is joining the cast, and when can you watch the movie?

When is Sing 2 going to be released in the UK?

Sing 2 will be released in UK cinemas on Friday, January 28, 2022.

The film was released slightly earlier in the US on December 22, 2021.

Who is in the cast of Sing 2?

There are some big names in the follow-up to the first Sing, with Big Little Lies actress Reese Witherspoon returning to play Rosita – a singing pig.

Rocketman star Taron Egerton is also back as Johnny, a Gorilla, while comedian Eric Andre voices a new character Darius, a pretentious Yak.

Fans of singer Halsey will be delighted to see her take on the role of Porsha, a wolf and the daughter of character Billy Crystal, played by Bobby Cannavale.

Singer Pharell Williams also stars in the sequel as an elephant who owns an ice cream truck called Alfonso.

British actress and rising star Letitia Wright will play Nooshy, a streetwise Lynx and dancer.

For fans of Parks and Recreation, Nick Offerman will return as the pig husband of Rosita.

Making a special guest appearance in the sequel is U2 singer Bono, who voices a new lion character called Clay Colloway.

Bono even wrote an original song for the film which has been nominated for an Oscar at this year’s awards.
