Harrison Ford is set to return as Indiana Jones once more, and we’re so ready for it.
The 78-year-old actor will dust off his boots to lead the way in the next film in the franchise, it has been confirmed.
Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy revealed the news during Disney’s Investor Day, on Thursday,
She also announced that Indiana Jones’ next adventure, directed by James Mangold, will be going into production next spring, meaning we’ll get a look at it in July, 2022.
A tweet from the official Disney Twitter account read: ‘Lucasfilm is in pre-production on the next installment of Indiana Jones.

Right on cue, fans erupted over the news, with many excited for more Harrison on the big screen.
‘Yo i’m psyched for this,’ one replied, as another said: ‘Currently crying of happiness.’
A very, very excited follower penned: ‘HOYLS F**KING S**T IM LOSING MY F**KING S**T HOLY S**T HOLY S**T I F**KING LOVE THIS SEPHIRIOTH AND I DIANA JONESS!!????? aahaaaAAAAHHHHHHH!!!’
A Twitter user added: ‘James Mangold is an amazing choice, it may feel different without Spielberg but idc more Indy is what I need after this horrible year.’
At of the time of writing, nothing else is known about the new movie.
Harrison has led the way in four Indy films, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade and, most recently, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Before the announcement, there was intense speculation that the Hollywood legend was being replaced by Chris Pratt in the franchise.
The Expendables star quickly poured ice cold water over that, stating that there was no way anyone else would ever get the role.
Speaking in 2015, he insisted: ‘Nobody else is gonna be Indiana Jones! Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones.
‘When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy … This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this.’
