Prepare for a serious bout of nostalgia, as the cast of Cool Runnings have reunited!
It’s hard to imagine the picture was created 30 years ago, yet it was released in 1993.
The sport/comedy is partially based on a true tale and stars John Candy, Rawle D. Lewis, Doug E. Doug, Malik Yoba, and Leon Robinson, to mention a few.
The narrative follows a Jamaican bobsleigh team as they attempt to compete in the 1988 Winter Olympics despite several obstacles, including a hesitant coach.
They practise in harsh and bright environments for a sport that, according to the summary, “chills them to their bones.”
It’s a genuine feel-good film that fans have seen numerous times as youngsters and adults, so it’s no wonder it grossed £129 million at the box office.

And, even in 2023, the cast is still on good terms.
They’re unrecognisable after three decades!
The group surprised everyone by reuniting and hanging out like old times in a photo shared on social media.
‘Always lovely to see my #coolrunnings guys,’ Leon, now 61, who portrayed Derice Bannock, posted on Twitter. We shared a sled, and we made history together’.
He uploaded a photo of himself standing with on-screen comrades Doug, 53, who portrayed Sanka Coffie, Malik, 55, who played Yul Brenner, and Rawle, 49, who played Junior Bevil, their arms around each other and smiling.
Reacting to the tweet, one fan hailed Cool Runnings ‘the greatest Disney movie ever made’.
‘Aww! One of our favourite childhood film. Glad to see everyone looking so well!’, one Twitter user wrote.
‘My childhood heroes’, wrote another.
‘This movie will always be one of my faves!!’, said another.
Plenty also shared the film’s famed statement, which is the motto the protagonists say before a big race: ‘Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it’s bobsled time! Cool Runnings!’
Others remembered actor and comedian Candy, who played coach Irv Blitzer and died in 1994, making Cool Runnings his final film.
The 43-year-old actor left an amazing legacy, with credits including National Lampoon’s Vacation, Uncle Buck, and Home Alone.
The cast members of Cool Runnings have continued to act and perform since their appearance in the film.
Doug played Bernie in Shark Tale, Cosby on CBS, and still does stand-up comedy.
In addition to Narcos: Mexico, Rawle appeared in Bite Size Halloween in 2020.
Leon appeared in the TV series The Temptations and as Shep in the 1994 basketball drama Above the Rim, as well as Little Richard in the 2000 film Little Richard.
Meanwhile, Malik has been in ABC’s Designated Survivor, Netflix’s Seven Seconds, and Jordan Peele’s TBS comedy The Last OG, making him possibly the most successful of the four.
