We’ve been treated to a photo bonanza from the forthcoming Barbie film, showing first-look images of the massive ensemble.
On Tuesday, the film released opening images for its ensemble of characters, categorising them as ‘Barbies,’ ‘Kens,’ and ‘humans.’ (although there is some interesting overlap).
The supporting ensemble, headed by Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, is also excellent, with Dua Lipa as Mermaid Barbie, Issa Rae as President Barbie, and Sex Education actor Emmas Mackey’s Barbie receiving a Nobel Prize in Physics.
Surprise character arrivals include actor and writer Emerald Fennell as Midge, Barbie’s closest friend, and Jamie Demetriou as a human’suit.’ (we assume he works for the Mattel-like corps in the film).
Michael Cera, also known as ‘Allan,’ has been revealed in a multi-colored striped shirt and vibrant orange hair.
Dame Helen Mirren, dressed in a fun yellow headscarf and purple and grey ensemble, was also revealed as the film’s narrator, while Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan portrays an ambassador Barbie and was dressed in a fantastic pink and silver 8os-style costume.
