Finding yourself feeling stressed is a common problem facing many of us in this fast paced world.

Between our work and social lives, and in some cases raising kids and caring for relatives, we can find ourselves being pulled in every direction.

However, there are things that we can all do to alleviate everyday anxieties. So, if you’re ready to start taking steps towards a stress-free you, here are our five essential tips.

 

  1. Write Your Feelings Down

Journaling at the end of each day is a great way to let out all of your stresses and anxieties before you head off to bed.

Even if you never share this with anyone else, getting your worries out into the world can help lift some of the weight from your shoulders.

And remember, it’s important not to just focus on the negatives either. Every time you write down a worry, also try to think of something that went well for you in the day. No matter how small this may be, it will start to help you focus on the positives rather than the negatives.

Caffeine does have health benefits, and we can often rely on it for moral support in the morning. However, too much of this useful drink can have negative side effects too.

From bubble baths to scented candles, taking time out of your day to rest up can work wonders.

Furthering your education can have long term benefits to both your career and self-esteem.

But figuring out how to return to university can cause us unnecessary stress.

There is no shame in asking for help when things get too much.

Start with your GP, they’ll be able to assess your situation and make any mental health referrals that you need.
