Daisy Edgar-Jones Proves Puff Sleeves are Here to Stay in Plunging Red Dress at the Critics’ Choice Awards

Normal People‘s Daisy Edgar-Jones was nominated for Best Actress in a Movie/Miniseries at the virtual streaming of the 26th Critics’ Choice Awards. Although Anya Taylor-Joy took home the accolade for The Queen’s Gambit, Edgar-Jones’s plunging red Oscar de la Renta minidress was a trophy all on its own.

Edgar-Jones’s gorgeous look was courtesy of stylist Nicky Yates. The Normal People actor wore a scarlet red Oscar de la Renta minidress with a plunging square neckline, billowing elbow-length puff-sleeves, and shoes by Jimmy Choo. For beauty, Edgar-Jones went for a low ponytail by Danna Rutherford, and simple black eyeliner applied in a thick line on her top eyelid by Gina Kane along with an otherwise neutral Chanel makeup look. “Thank you @criticschoice for this nomination!!! Thank you thank you @oscardelarenta for this dress I LOVE it,” Edgar Jones said on Instagram, and so do we! The awards season outfits of Hollywood’s up-and-coming young stars are always a good gauge for which fashion trends are worth noting, and according to Edgar-Jones – puff sleeves will be one of the most defining fashion trends of our generation.
