Fashion giant Burberry has launched a new campaign with footballer Marcus Rashford, bringing together the worlds of fashion and sport.
Inspired by youth and looking towards the future, the campaign promotes ideas of being fearless and dreaming big.
The topics are particularly relevant for Marcus Rashford, who is currently petitioning for the government to give poorer children free meals over the school holidays.
Burberry’s latest campaign – and Marcus’ first ever fashion one – pledges to support the ‘voices of tomorrow’ to build a better future, and joins forces with charities supporting young people across the world.
In the photos, taken by Rafael Pavarotti, Marcus can be seen wearing the brand’s signature tartan print on a puffer jacket placed over a classic cream trench coat.
Other snaps show him wearing a blue suit styled with a pale blue shirt and dark tie, alongside a small tan satchel – as well as a bold tartan jacket and black trousers ensemble.
Marcus said: ‘Burberry is THE British brand with strong ties to the North of England, which is really important to me. It is very rare that I partner in a formal capacity, but what Burberry was offering was different.
‘Burberry shared my vision in bettering local communities through investment into youth centres, which play a pivotal role in the childhood of many, especially in under-privileged areas. We are all products of our community and youth centres offer children in those local communities stability and consistency to succeed at anything they put their minds to.
‘Youth centres have suffered financially due to the global pandemic and closing them is losing the heart of the community. Burberry have led with action rather than words and the impact of this move will be felt for generations to come. I’m thrilled with the outcome and proud to call Burberry my partner.’
The luxury fashion house has a long history of giving back to communities, as this was something championed by its founder Thomas Burberry.
Burberry pledged to support UK youth organisations in Manchester, London and charities with a global reach, offering educational programmes and support young creatives and artists, as well as help for young entrepreneurs.
