YouTuber Grace Victory placed in induced coma with coronavirus days after giving birth to baby boy

YouTube star Grace Victory has been placed in an induced coma to fight coronavirus, four days after giving birth to her son.

The 30-year-old influencer welcomed her first child with boyfriend and singer Lee on Christmas Eve and shared the happy news on social media.

It’s believed her baby boy arrived early as she previously mentioned the due date as February.

However on Monday, her family shared an update on Grace’s health and revealed the devastating news that her battle with Covid-19 had worsened.

The statement explained: ‘As you guys know, Grace gave birth on Christmas Eve to a beautiful baby boy, who is currently doing so well, he’s incredible. We love him so much.

‘Grace developed Covid-19 two weeks ago and although her symptoms were mild at first, they worsened as the days went on. Which meant they had to deliver the baby as soon as possible, as she was just too unwell to carry on with the pregnancy.’

It continued: ‘Grace was admitted into intensive care on Christmas Day due to issues with her breathing & therefore they had to make the decision of placing her into an induced coma, to give her body the rest it needs, in order to recover.’

Fortunately they revealed that Grace is stable but asked they asked for her fans to keep them in their prayers.

The family added: ‘We love her so, so much and we know she’ll come out of this stronger than ever. She has dedicated her whole career to healing people, we now ask that you pray, to heal her.’

Grace had spent almost two weeks in hospital last month after falling unwell during the pregnancy. She later explained in a YouTube video that she was extremely dehydrated and released from hospital after recovering.

Announcing the exciting news that she’d given birth, Grace wrote in a social media post: ‘We’re parents. It’s been a wild week but this morning baby boy arrived and is our little Christmas miracle.

‘We are all doing so well and I am f*****g in love… IM A MUVAAAAAAAAAAAA [sic].’

Sharing sweet details of the delivery, Grace added: ‘When baby was being born Lee sang “the first time I saw your face” and that is why I need to marry him… I’m a whole Mum!! I can’t believe it.’

Grace and Lee, who have been dating for around two years, announced they were expecting their first child together in May with a stunning photo shoot showing her baby bump.

Since launching her YouTube channel almost a decade ago, Grace has become one of the most successful influencers in the UK. Often regarded to as the internet’s big sister, Grace uses her platform to inspire other plus-size bloggers while also opening up about her mental health battles.
