Over on Twitter, fans called Perkins a ‘Vine legend’ and remembered some of his most well-known videos.
Perkins was probably best known for his 2015 Vine in which he walked into a bathroom in his boxers saying ‘Hi, welcome to Chili’s’ – mocking the tagline for a series of ads for the American restaurant chain Chili’s.
The Vine gained over 20 million loops in a year and inspired a series of parodies and remixes, including one where Perkins was superimposed over the entrance of a Chili’s restaurant.
He and his twin brother often made Vines together, with Patrick being the twin featured in the Vine in which he vapes a cloud of smoke which is blown away, before turning to the camera and saying: ‘Adam!’
Perkins graduated from a music composition degree from NYU in 2019, and in his final Instagram post, shared on March 21, he wrote: ‘remember adam from vine? he’s 24 now and a business analyst working in data. feel old yet? copying packie because we’re twins and supposed to do that.’
Following the shutdown of Vine in 2016, Perkins continued to share videos on TikTok, where he had over 19,000 followers.
