After winning the FA Cup, Manchester City’s players were congratulated by one very famous fan.
They ran into Sir Elton John at the airport following their victory against Manchester United at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday (June 3), with the Tiny Dancer hitmaker willing to stop for pictures.
Oh, and he gets to keep the trophy!
The entire squad was in great spirits as they met the Rocketman, 76, on the runway after returning to Manchester for a night of festivities.
City’s stars waited in queue to see Sir Elton, who fit right in with his designer tracksuit, according to video footage of the exciting occasion.
Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker were among those who received welcomes and embraces from the music legend, with Phil Foden even capturing a cheeky photo!
The workers are seen snapping photographs of the famous encounter in a second video uploaded by the Man City Twitter account, while the artist shouts out his song Your Song with them.
‘You can tell everybody, we’ve won the FA Cup!’, they captioned the clip.
After they finished performing, Sir Elton reminded them, ‘One more next week!’ before the City team began to clap.
The entire gang then assembled for a photo, with Sir Elton happily posing in the centre.
The Glastonbury headliner was beaming beside the group as they hoisted the massive trophy they won 2-1.
City manager Pep Guardiola was also on the team and could be seen in the distance watching the action.
The Twitter video has received over one million views, with Man City supporters adoring it.
‘This is why I love this football club. They just get it.’, one person tweeted.
‘I absolutely love this! Not bad singing from @mancity players either. Elton looks just as happy meeting Foden as Foden is meeting Elton! My club’, another tweeted.
‘This is so, so wholesome and good.’, another wrote.

The Premier League champions prevailed as captain Ilkay Gundogan scored the quickest goal in FA Cup final history after only 13 seconds.
And they accomplished it all with the extra strain of many A-listers in the stands.
Ryan Reynolds and Paul Mullin went over to see the action as the star Wrexham striker won the competition’s best scorer title this season.
Meanwhile, David Beckham and his boys Brooklyn and Cruz were going through a difficult period.
As Manchester United supporters, the game was a rollercoaster ride for the three, as their joys were short-lived.
