Sarah Beeny has expressed gratitude to followers for their well wishes following her cancer update.
The TV host disclosed on Friday (April 14) that she had been given the all-clear after completing breast cancer therapy.
Sarah, 51, revealed her diagnosis in August 2022 and has spoken of losing her mother to the cancer when she was just ten years old.
She finished her last round of chemotherapy earlier this year and celebrated with Lorraine Kelly, telling the Scottish broadcaster that it was a ‘strange’ experience.
Taking to Twitter this weekend, the property expert wrote sweetly: ‘Thanks soo much for all your lovely messages of support it genuinely means so much’.
She added that it ‘weirdly’ doesn’t feel so much like she’s had the ‘all clear’, but rather that it’s the ‘end of treatment’.
‘Subtle difference but good to be here either way!!’, she noted.
‘Hope you enjoy new series Mon 8pm @Channel4 !!!’, she concluded, promoting the next instalment of Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country, which begins next week.
Showering her with love, one Twitter follower replied: ‘I love the way you’ve worded this. I don’t think it’s ever “all clear” it should be “all clear for now”. End of treatment takes a bit of getting used to. It’s like your safety net has been pulled from underneath you, but it’s a huge milestone. Enjoy!’
‘Congrats on getting to the end of your treatment Sarah, looking forward to the new series, take care x’, wrote another.
‘You look amazing and so thrilled with your fantastic news! All the very best with the new series’, another penned.
Sarah said last week on Lorraine that she will continue to take medicine.
‘It’s good, but it’s weird,’ she admitted. ‘They kind of go, “Right that’s it then, that’s the end of that”. And you kind of go, “How do you know?”
‘And they go, “Well we don’t, we just sort of think so”. It’s a weird end because you feel like there should be a moment – but it’s ongoing. I have to take drugs for the next 10 years.
‘But yeah, it’s been a weird ride that I wouldn’t wish on anyone else, but I’m glad I did it rather than somebody else.’
Sarah also stated that the previous year had been a “rollercoaster.”
‘It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but I feel very fortunate I had the diagnosis that I did, and that I live in 2022, ’23, and that I’m the age I am. So many things I’m fortunate for, I feel very blessed,’ she shared.
Sarah Swift, who has four boys with husband Graham Swift, explained how much her family has helped her during her health fight.
‘It’s been overwhelming how lovely everyone’s been – even you,’ she laughed as Billy and Rafferty joined her on the programme, and Laurie assisted with her new platinum haircut.
‘It was their younger brother who did it. It was my blusher brush,’ she laughed.
When it comes to keeping their mum occupied during her treatment, Billy explained: ‘That’s all you really can do, in that situation. That was basically our job, to distract mum.’
