Samantha Barks deserves congratulations after joyfully announcing the birth of her first child with husband Alex Stoll.
The 32-year-old will take some time off to rest up for the arrival of Barks-Stoll’s child, which is scheduled for October 2023.
Samantha, who is best known for her role as Eponine in Les Miserables, has been playing Elsa in the West End version of Disney’s Frozen, but she will take a break to give birth.
‘We have been keeping a tiny secret,’ revealed a board with the due date on nestled inside a white basket, with a fluffy sheep toy and tiny socks next to it.
The couple also posted a little video in which each member of the family lifts their hands and paws off the pile to show an ultrasound image.
On her Instagram story, Samantha said Jenna Lee James will take over as Elsa, complete with the recognisable blonde plait.

Friends, family and fans all quickly sent their congratulations to the couple, who wed last June in Tuscany.
Steph McKeon, the Anna to Samantha’s Elsa, said: ‘So happy for you. You’re gonna be such amazing parents. Mini-us best friends in the making.’

While appearing in the Chicago and Broadway versions of Pretty Woman, in which she portrayed the lead character Vivian, Samantha and Alex got to know one another.
Although they maintain a high level of secrecy, the couple announced their engagement in 2021 and stated that Alex had proposed on a snowy rural stroll.
In honour of their one-year anniversary just six weeks ago, Samantha shared beautiful photos from their wedding day, which took place in Tuscany in 2022.
Samantha will continue to play Elsa in the West End until August 23, at which point Jenna will take over. Samantha is rumoured to be considering a comeback in the following year, though.
She wrote: ‘I have so much love for this amazing woman, @jennaleejames thank you for your kindness, love and support and I can’t wait to see your Elsa.’
