Sam Asghari joined the picket line of striking actors amid speculations that he hopes to establish an acting career following his divorce from wife Britney Spears.
Britney, 41, met the 27-year-old model and dancer on the shoot of her 2016 music video Slumber Party, and they were together for six years.
They were engaged and later married when Britney was released from her 13-year conservatorship, but they split up last month.
The divorce has not been amicable, with rumours that Britney is paying exorbitant rent for Sam’s new rented condo while she is now partying it up in Mexico.
It was recently revealed that Sam intends to establish his acting career fully after previously playing minor roles largely in TV productions, including the upcoming Special Ops Lioness series.
With the dancer in the spotlight due to his and Britney’s divorce, the model joined actors striking at Walt Disney Studios in California.
He was approached at the picket line by TMZ after previously sharing a snap of himself holding a placard to Instagram.
Sam told the source that he was merely there to support his fellow actors, and that when questioned about Britney, he was ‘not here to talk about my personal life.’
Carrying a Sag-Aftra sign, he stated that his ‘brothers and sisters’ were ‘striking for my future,’ adding that he hoped that everything would be addressed so that ‘we can all go back to what we love doing the most, which is producing art and inspiring others.’
He revealed that he is currently jobless due to the strike, adding, ‘I have the same amount of jobs as Leonardo DiCaprio right now.’
It comes after an insider told TMZ Sam is planning to work on the acting side of his career as his personal lie continues to attract attention.
They stated that while Sam was not working on any projects at the time of the strike, he is expecting to obtain more acting work once it is done.
He confirmed his and Britney’s split with a statement on Instagram in August, saying: ‘After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,’ he wrote on Instagram at the time.
‘We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.’
‘Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.’
