Fans of S Club 7 were shaken after the band posted a photo without the late Paul Cattermole.
Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Hannah Spearritt, and Rachel Stevens were among the remaining six band members spotted strolling along a beach.
The photo from the group’s early days was released only days before he died, and fans expressed concern over the unintentional foreboding.
Underneath the photograph with the caption: ‘Hope you’re all having a fantastic start to the week,’ fans commented on how ‘strange’ it was that Cattermole was missing.
One penned: ‘So weird that this only has the 6 of them in [sic],’ while another said: ‘it’s like them waving goodbye to Paul one last time.. [sic]’.
‘I always miss Paul in that picture, Was He recording in another location in the Christmas special? [sic],’ a fan questioned on Instagram.
A follower also shared: ‘Sorry for your loss 🙁 he will be missed! Was looking forward to seeing you all back together! X [sic]’.
Cattermole, 46, was discovered dead at his home in Dorset on Thursday afternoon.
It happened shortly after S Club 7 announced a 25th anniversary tour, in which Cattermole was scheduled to perform.
Cattermole’s family and the band stated in a statement last week that the singer’s cause of death was remained unknown, but police verified there were “no suspicious circumstances.”
Sharing a photo of Cattermole on Instagram, fellow band member Jo, 43, wrote: ‘I just wanted to reach out and thank everybody from the bottom of my heart for the love and kindness you have shown over the tragic passing of our sweetest soul Paul.
‘This has been utterly devastating, and I am totally shocked and heartbroken. We have lost someone so incredibly special to us all, and there is a huge sense of sadness that will never go.
‘Paul will forever be a huge part of our lives, and I will forever treasure the memories we made! I will love you always Paul, God bless you my darling, Rest in forever Peace. Love JoJo’.
S Club’s reunion tour is set to take place in October of this year.
