It’s a low blow when your mother knocks you out on social media, but Victoria Beckham couldn’t resist making a remark about her son Romeo’s newest selfie.
The 49-year-old company owner posted a mirror image of her 20-year-old son to her Instagram story, questioning why he chose to take a selfie in the restroom.
Romeo, who is the spitting image of his legendary father David Beckham and has followed in his footsteps to become a player, wore a casual grey jumper and faded jeans in the shot.
Nonetheless, the former Spice Girl used the chance to comment on the Brentford FC player’s peculiar background choice and give a recommendation to her son for future selfies.
She wrote alongside the image: ‘Consider your background @romeobeckham [laughing face emoji],’ before adding: ‘(And put the seat down!!).’
Victoria even drew an arrow to the toilet, to emphasise her point about sorting the common bathroom bugbear out.
It comes after Romeo attended a spectacular ceremony of King Charles III’s coronation earlier this month with his renowned parents.
The pair staged a star-studded reception with guests including Guy Ritchie, 54, and his wife Jacqui, 41, and toasted the new king with scones and champagne.
David shared a snap with Victoria and Romeo ahead of the weekend’s festivities and penned: ‘Celebrating with family this amazing weekend.’
The Beckhams got into the spirit by decorating their British-themed desserts with union jack flags, while David dressed up for the occasion in a suit and chinos.
Meanwhile, despite his mother’s taunts, Romeo continues to live up to his nickname as a darling, sharing a heartfelt homage to his mother on her birthday last month.
Alongside a picture of himself cuddling up to Victoria, he wrote: ‘Happy birthday to the best mum out there love you so much @victoriabeckham.’
