Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance will be ‘unlike anything you’ve ever seen before,’ promises musical director

Rihanna’s musical director has been leaking hints about her impending Super Bowl performance, and fans are overjoyed.

After taking a break from music to work on her brands Savage X Fenty, Fenty Beauty, and Fenty Skin, the Umbrella hitmaker will make a dramatic return to the stage next month for the Halftime Show.

Rihanna’s most recent album, Anti, was released in 2016, however she just surprised us all with Lift Me Up from the Black Panther 2 soundtrack, so we are eager to see her back on stage, where she belongs.

When asked about her set, Adam Blackstone stated it will be “unlike anything you’ve ever seen before,” which gives us goosebumps just thinking about it.

Lifting the lid on the creative process and what it’s been like working with the star, he told Rolling Stone: ‘It’s been cool. We’re spearheaded by the team at Roc Nation, Willow, incredible choreographer and creative director Parris Goebel, and my partner on this is Omar Edwards as the co-musical director.

‘So, it’s been really cool, man. The thing about Rihanna is that she’s so creative. She is boundary-pushing at all times, so it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, and we always try to push the envelope with her.’

While Adam won’t go into detail about Rihanna’s performance, he did say, ‘This is her first time coming back as Rihanna, the artist.

‘She understands that her career has broadened numerous sonic pallets, from EDM to pop to hip-hop to ballads, so we want to try and give a little something to everyone.’

So, based on the musical director’s statements, we may expect songs from various Rihanna eras when she comes to State Farm Stadium on February 12!

Is this a medley of S&M, Work, and We Found Love followed by an emotional piano moment to Diamonds, Love on the Brain, and Take A Bow?

What about the clothes? What about the choreography? What about the set design? We have so many questions, but the clock is ticking!

Rihanna, who became a mother for the first time last year, recently stated that she has mixed feelings about singing at the legendary event, which is watched by millions worldwide.

Asked how she felt about the performance while out grocery shopping in Los Angeles back in October, she told US outlet TMZ: ‘I’m nervous… but I’m excited.’

While Rihanna is set to be accompanied by special guests for the concert in classic Super Bowl fashion, the Barbadian singer declined to elaborate.

Her performance is undoubtedly anticipated, especially given Riri’s refusal to perform at the 2019 Halftime Show in solidarity with former US football player Colin Kaepernick.

The performance has already featured global superstars such as The Weeknd, Shakira, and Jennifer Lopez, and there is no doubt that Rihanna will bring the party.
